The Campfire is an Adelaide-based team that runs role-playing and board game sessions for young people with disabilities.
Run by young people, for young people, our activities build social skills, develop friendships and explore creative interests in a safe, welcoming and fun environment.
Tim - Group Leader and Support Worker
Tim runs our Star Wars D&D group as well as our Warhammer Club. He has over a decade of experience running tabletop games, such as D&D and Warhammer, which allows him to create seamless experiences for our group members.
Combined with a degree in Media & Communications, Tim understands the impact the narrative activities we co-create at the table can have, and how best to engage group members in those stories.
Josh - Director and Group Leader
Before The Campfire, Josh worked as a Designer and Change Manager in the IT and Business Consulting Industry, with an academic background in Business and Communications.
Josh has played and run Dungeons and Dragons games for the past ten years. The game fulfilled Josh's creativity outside of work and built social connections with friends who also needed a break from their weekly commitments. Josh seeks to share these benefits with people of all abilities
Toby - Support Worker
Toby is a passionate primary school teacher with experience working with children of all ages. He enjoys sharing his passions for D&D and board games with others and helping to boost our participants' confidence and involvement in social groups.
Toby works alongside our participants to help them fully participate in activities and ensure a safe space for everyone to be themselves and connect.
